The robotic arm can flexibly extend and contract, the central control screen can update real-time production data, and the automated production line operates at full speed... Recently, when reporters visited various enterprises in our city, they found that intelligent equipment precisely empowered the production workshop, and artificial intelligence was deeply integrated into all links of industrial development. A new industrial landscape of accelerated and enhanced efficiency in intelligent manufacturing is clearly emerging. 

Since the beginning of this year, our city has continued to implement the "Artificial Intelligence + Manufacturing" initiative. It has collaborated with domestic universities and research institutions to jointly build an innovation platform for industry-university-research cooperation. It has also comprehensively coordinated the application process of various scientific and technological projects. It has relied on professional service platforms to strengthen the support of key factors. It has increased financial resources to support the real economy. And it has continuously empowered artificial intelligence to promote the integration, improvement and efficiency enhancement of key industries through technology. 

Our city focuses on the demand for industrial intelligent upgrading and actively organizes the declaration of artificial intelligence-enabled industrial projects for the implementation of the regional science and technology plan. Within the year, a total of 8 projects were approved, and a total of 10.93 million yuan in special funds were obtained. 

Strengthen the integration of industry, academia and research 

In the list of intelligent factories and digital workshops of the autonomous region in 2026, a total of 12 enterprises from our city were selected. Among them, Guangxi Hongyi New Materials Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Hongyi New Materials Company") was included in the 2026 Guangxi Digital Workshop (Basic-level Intelligent Factory) recognition list.

As a key enterprise in our city's recycled metal materials industry, Hongyi New Materials Company introduced an artificial intelligence large model for production support at the same time when it was established. Relying on this intelligent control system, the company not only optimized electricity usage in the production process and significantly reduced material waste, but also increased the product pass rate from the original 98.6% to 99.2%, achieving energy conservation, cost reduction, quality improvement and efficiency enhancement. 

Currently, the integration and application of artificial intelligence technology in the recycling metal materials industry of our city are particularly prominent. Many leading enterprises have already launched projects for digital and intelligent transformation. 

Guangxi Wuzhou Jinhai Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. has developed an integrated digital control intelligent system and laid out a smart park system. It has established a standardized raw material inspection center to achieve data sharing and closed-loop control in production. Wuzhou Yongda Steel Group, in collaboration with Beijing University of Science and Technology, has been working on researching the application of artificial intelligence monitoring strategies in the steelmaking process. They are relying on artificial intelligence to optimize the smelting process and accelerate the intelligent and green coordinated transformation of the steel industry... 

Since the beginning of this year, our city has continuously deepened the "artificial intelligence + manufacturing" integration of industry-university-research collaboration. It has jointly established a collaborative innovation platform with universities and research institutions, simultaneously improved the science and technology financing system, regularly organized government-bank-enterprise matchmaking activities, allocated special science and technology funds, and guided financial resources to be inclined towards intelligent transformation and AI technology research projects. This has comprehensively promoted the improvement and efficiency enhancement of the industry. 

In terms of strengthening the project reserve team, this year, our city established a municipal investment reserve project database, and has stored 29 alternative projects from enterprises such as Tongxin Energy, Aoshun Instruments, and Fimat in the database. In terms of industry-university-research collaboration innovation, our city has jointly established an artificial intelligence joint laboratory for ultra-high voltage transmission operation and maintenance with local universities and the Wuzhou Bureau of Southern Power Grid, and has promoted the establishment of an intelligent decision-making and control laboratory (along the Xingqin) by local universities in collaboration with Macao City University, to break through the "industry-university-research-application" full-chain transformation channel, and inject continuous scientific and technological innovation power into the digital upgrade of regional characteristic industries. 

Next, our city will further strengthen its top-level planning, focus on the core demands of leading industries such as recycled metals, carry out key technology research and development, deepen collaborative research and development cooperation with domestic universities, promote the physical implementation and operation of various innovation platforms, and simultaneously continuously carry out special actions to improve the quality of innovation entities. With more practical measures, we will promote the high-quality development of the city's science and technology sector.
