Focusing on the construction of the recycled metal new materials industrial cluster, it uses technological innovation and digital empowerment to solve the bottlenecks in traditional metallurgical industries such as low production efficiency, poor energy consumption control, difficult quality control, and weak collaboration and coordination. Guangxi Wuzhou Hongyi New Materials Co., Ltd. seized the opportunities of the development of the digital economy and artificial intelligence industry, and took the lead in carrying out the full-process digital transformation. It became the first full-process "black light factory" in Wuzhou, exploring a new path for high-quality development of traditional short-process steelmaking enterprises with "AI + Stainless Steel", and providing replicable and promotable "Hongyi Experience" for the intelligent transformation of the new materials industry. 

I. Background of the Reform 

Guangxi Wuzhou Hongyi New Materials Co., Ltd. is a key enterprise in the recycled metal new materials industry of Wuzhou City. It specializes in the smelting of high-quality stainless steel and subsequent processing. It is a representative short-process steelmaking stainless steel enterprise in the region. The company's business covers the entire industrial chain of steelmaking, hot rolling, pickling, cold rolling, and pipe manufacturing, with an annual production capacity of 1 million tons of hot-rolled stainless steel strips and 800,000 tons of cold-rolled stainless steel strips. Its products include stainless steel coil plates of all specifications in 200 series, 300 series, and 400 series, which can meet the diverse market demands of high-end equipment, hardware products, pipe fittings, etc., and provide raw materials, processing, and customized "one-stop" solutions for the downstream recycled stainless steel product industry. 

Facing the common industry problems such as high reliance on manual labor, poor data communication, lagging decision-making, and loose energy consumption and cost control in traditional manufacturing, the company adheres to the strategy of giving priority to digitalization and intelligence, and takes the lead in achieving the digital networking of all process equipment, breaking through the data barriers among production equipment, control systems, and management systems, and laying a solid data foundation and hardware basis for the comprehensive intelligent transformation. Leveraging the favorable policy environment of Wuzhou City's vigorous development of the artificial intelligence industry, the company uses the large model technology as the core engine, independently develops an industrial intelligent agent suitable for the entire stainless steel production scenario, promoting the transformation of the production mode from "experience-driven" to "data-driven and intelligent decision-making". 

II. Main Approaches 

(1) Based on a digital foundation, the first full-process "dark factory" in Wuzhou was built. We comprehensively promoted the digital upgrade of production equipment, enabling all production facilities to automatically collect data, transmit it in real time, and be centrally managed. A digital perception system covering the entire production line was established. Through equipment networking and automation integration, operations in key links such as steelmaking, hot rolling, pickling, cold rolling, and pipe making were carried out with fewer or no human workers. The first full-process "dark factory" in Wuzhou was built, significantly improving the continuity, stability, and safety of production. This fundamentally changed the high-intensity and high-human-input production model of traditional metallurgical enterprises. 

(2) Utilizing the large model as the engine, develop the Hongyi Stainless Steel Intelligent Agent. By 2025, based on the open-source DeepSeek large model, deeply integrate the internal business knowledge base, production and operation data, industry general data and process analysis models of the enterprise, combined with professional scenarios such as stainless steel smelting, rolling, quality, energy consumption, and equipment management, independently develop the Hongyi Stainless Steel Intelligent Agent. The intelligent agent realizes the integration of industry knowledge, enterprise data, and AI algorithms, forming an industrial intelligent brain with autonomous perception, autonomous analysis, autonomous decision-making, and autonomous execution capabilities, filling the gap in the application of large models in the Wuzhou stainless steel industry. 

(3) Centered on the full-chain intelligent control, it breaks through the information silos and achieves closed-loop operation. The Hongyi Stainless Steel Intelligent System constructs a "perception - decision - execution - collaboration" full-chain intelligent control system, fully connecting the information silos in all aspects such as raw materials, production, quality, equipment, energy consumption, sales, and park management. It realizes intelligent control throughout the entire process and across the entire cycle, from raw material entry, smelting and rolling, quality inspection to finished product delivery and logistics distribution. 
The intelligent agent seamlessly integrates with the business knowledge base, Internet market information, and real-time enterprise databases, quickly generating standardized production logs and multi-dimensional business analysis reports. Through the MCP tool, combined with mathematical calculation models and traditional AI algorithms, it conducts precise numerical analysis of production operation data, forming a complete business closed-loop of "data analysis - decision support - execution feedback", supporting six core functions of enterprise production and operation: 1. Intelligent production and operation. Supports intelligent question answering for production status, automatically generates production and operation daily reports, conducts multi-dimensional analysis such as year-on-year and month-on-month comparisons, assisting management in real-time monitoring of production dynamics. 2. Precise quality control. Real-time consultation on the quality of steel billets and hot-rolled black skin rolls, multi-period quality analysis, defect traceability and process improvement suggestions. 3. Fine energy management. Provides hourly-level process energy consumption data feedback, based on historical process parameters, gives the optimal control range, helping to save energy, reduce costs, and increase efficiency. 4. Market prediction and production scheduling. Combining market dynamics and historical data, predicts the trend of stainless steel prices, and intelligently provides production scheduling and raw material reserve suggestions. 5. Production anomaly warning. Real-time monitoring of key equipment parameters, immediate warning of abnormal situations, automatically generating equipment maintenance and maintenance reports, improving the comprehensive utilization rate of equipment. 6. Smart management of personnel and the park. Real-time statistics of on-duty and leave personnel, automatic control of visitor and vehicle access, improving park safety and operational efficiency. 

(4) With closed-loop management as the guarantee, promote the implementation and effectiveness of digitalization. Establish a closed-loop working mechanism of "model iteration - data verification - scenario implementation - effect review", continuously optimize the algorithm of intelligent agents and their compatibility with business; simultaneously improve the digital management system and operation norms, conduct AI application training for employees, and promote the simultaneous upgrading of technology, management, and personnel to ensure that the intelligent system is used well, stably, and effectively. 

III. Reform Outcomes 

(1) The industrial value is outstanding and the economic contribution is significant. Firstly, the economic benefits have significantly increased. Through intelligent expansion and process optimization, an additional 80,000 tons of annual production capacity has been achieved, generating direct economic benefits of 1 billion yuan, driving the stainless steel industry towards scale and high-end development. Secondly, the overall cost reduction and efficiency improvement is notable. Through process parameter optimization, precise energy control, and full life cycle management of equipment, the annualized comprehensive cost reduction and efficiency improvement has exceeded 18 million yuan, driving the tax contribution of the industrial chain to approximately 600 million yuan, effectively supporting local economic development. 

(2) Enhancing production management efficiency and innovating operational models. Firstly, the efficiency of office and equipment management has been increased. The office process has been fully automated, resulting in a 10% improvement in daily office efficiency; equipment management and preventive maintenance have been implemented, and the overall cost of related links has decreased by over 8%. Secondly, the production process has been comprehensively optimized. The industrial visual inspection matrix has been put into use, saving 2% to 3% of labor costs annually; the efficiency of steel ladle intelligent scheduling has increased by 35%; the rolling process has been continuously optimized, reducing costs by over 5 million yuan annually, and the overall production efficiency has increased by 12%. Thirdly, both quality and energy consumption have been improved. The overall production energy consumption has decreased by 10% compared to the previous year; the precise temperature control during annealing has increased the product qualification rate by 5%; the optimization of the hot rolling combustion system has increased the fuel utilization rate by 8%, reducing the energy consumption per ton of steel by 4.2 kgce, significantly enhancing the level of green and low-carbon development. 

(3) Leading by transformation, industry value is prominent. As the first "black-light factory" in Wuzhou with a complete process, the company has taken the lead in achieving full-scenario AI empowerment for short-process stainless steel enterprises. It has provided a transformation model for traditional industries such as metallurgy and new materials, featuring "digitalization of equipment, data integration, intelligence in decision-making, and closed-loop management". This has helped Wuzhou's stainless steel industry reach the forefront of intelligent levels in the region and accelerated the development of Wuzhou's recycled metal and new material industry towards a green industrial cluster worth hundreds of billions.
