"Previously, our products could only meet the demand of 15% of the product market. After the 2B board comes out, it can meet 100% of the market demand for products. The company's president, Wang Wenhui, told the reporter.

A career is achieved through hard work. In recent years, focusing on strengthening leading enterprises, supplementing industrial chains and gathering industrial clusters, Wuzhou City has been making efforts to build a full-cycle and multi-level policy support system, establish high-level park platforms, and form a complete industrial cluster of recycled new materials covering lead, zinc, copper, aluminum, gold, silver, stainless steel, plastic and other categories. It has become a national demonstration base for "urban mines", a national base for comprehensive utilization of resources, a pilot city for the national recycling system of renewable resources, and a national demonstration base for green industries. Since the "14th Five-Year Plan", Wuzhou City has cultivated a total of 49 large-scale enterprises in the field of recycled new materials. In 2024, the output value of the city's recycled new materials industry reached 63.3 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year growth of 23%.

In October this year, at the first China 2025 Recycled New Materials Conference held in Wuzhou, Academician Wei Bingbo, the president of the Chinese Materials Research Society, commented as follows: "Wuzhou City has taken the lead in achieving a major breakthrough in the field of recycled new materials, with an industrial processing capacity reaching 10 million tons, ranking among the top in the country and forming distinct characteristics."

Recycled new materials are merely a microcosm of the accelerated development of Wuzhou's industry. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Wuzhou City adheres to the principle of giving priority to industrial development, with the aim of "rebuilding an industrial Wuzhou". It vigorously implements the industrial revitalization action. The five pillar industries of recycled new materials, high-end metal new materials, building materials, food and medicine, and photovoltaic electronics have formed a chain and taken shape, with a total output value of 143.2 billion yuan, accounting for more than 80% of the city's industrial added value. The industrial output value increased from 113.5 billion yuan in 2020 to 185.5 billion yuan in 2024. In the first half of 2025, the total industrial output value of designated-size enterprises in Wuzhou City exceeded 100 billion yuan for the first time.

At the press conference held on December 12th, relevant officials from Wuzhou City stated that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the goal of "rebuilding an industrial Wuzhou" has been basically achieved. Industry has become the main engine driving sustained and stable economic growth, effectively promoting a new breakthrough in economic aggregate.

Innovation has endowed "rebuilding an industrial Wuzhou" with new connotations. Over the past five years, Wuzhou City has been recognized by the autonomous region as having 2 benchmark enterprises for intelligent manufacturing in Guangxi, 18 demonstration enterprises for intelligent factories, and 19 digital workshops. Three digital scene construction plans have been included in the national excellent scene cases, 13 digital scene construction plans have been listed as excellent cases of digital transformation of enterprises in Guangxi, and five enterprises have obtained the national digital transformation standard star-level assessment and certification.

The Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China pointed out that efforts should be made to focus on the real economy in developing the economy and adhere to the directions of intelligence, greenness and integration. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, "Rebuilding an Industrial Wuzhou" has also continuously extended goodwill to the ecological environment, making green the distinct background color of industrial development.

In the national-level green industrial park - Wuzhou Changzhou Stainless Steel Products Industrial Park, Wuzhou Jinhai Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. has invested 150 million yuan to fully implement the ultra-low emission transformation project and build an integrated system of "source control - process governance - intelligent supervision". It is learned that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the company invested 1 billion yuan to build a 1.2 million-ton stainless steel solid solution and product green production line project. Among them, the waste acid regeneration system has made the acid liquid recycling rate exceed 95%.
