He deeply analyzed the current development status of China's recycled new materials industry and provided advice based on the actual situation of Wuzhou's industries. He said that Wuzhou's recycled new materials industry has a solid foundation and advantages, and it is the right time to seize the opportunity and accelerate its development.

As an authoritative expert in the field of national metallurgy and materials engineering, MAO Xinping has long been deeply engaged in the fundamental theoretical research, process technology development, new material research and engineering technology integration of advanced steel materials and their low-carbon preparation technologies. He pointed out that China's recycled steel industry has now entered a stage of rapid development, but there are still many key bottlenecks to be overcome on the way forward.

The primary issue is the "inherent insufficiency" of raw materials, behind which lies a world-class challenge - the high-quality utilization of raw materials. MAO Xinping explained that scrap steel, as the main raw material for recycled steel, has a wide range of sources and a diverse variety of residual elements with complex compositions. These factors directly affect the performance and quality improvement of steel products. At the same time, he also pointed out that there are still shortcomings in the upstream links of the industry, such as an incomplete scrap steel recycling system and inconsistent classification standards, which lead to prominent raw material mixing and increase the difficulty and cost of subsequent processing and treatment.

Facing the bottleneck challenges in industrial development, MAO Xinping put forward targeted ideas to break the deadlock. The top priority is to strengthen basic scientific research. He stated that only by thoroughly exploring the occurrence forms and action mechanisms of residual elements in scrap steel can key core technologies be broken through, providing solid technical support for the upgrading of the recycled steel industry. Meanwhile, he suggested that the industry accelerate the establishment of a refined raw material management system, further refine classification standards and quality control norms, improve raw material quality from the source, and lay a solid foundation for downstream high-end production.

Wuzhou boasts multiple "national brands" such as the National "Urban Mine" Demonstration Base, the National Comprehensive Utilization Base of Resources, the National Pilot City for the Recycling System of Renewable Resources, and the National Green Industry Demonstration Base. The scale of the renewable resources industrial cluster is relatively large, and the industrial structure is relatively complete. It covers six major fields including recycled stainless steel, recycled copper, recycled aluminum, recycled lead-zinc, recycled plastic and the recycling and utilization of rare and precious metals, with an industrial processing capacity of up to 10 million tons.

MAO Xinping has long been paying close attention to the vigorous development of Wuzhou's high-end metal new materials industry. He has witnessed the leap of several leading enterprises in Wuzhou with an annual output value of over 10 billion yuan, such as Yongda Steel, Chuji Steel, Jinhai Stainless Steel, and Xinfeng Special Steel, from "small steps and fast progress" to "accelerated leadership" in the stainless steel field.

Under the guidance of the "dual carbon" goals, Wuzhou adheres to the path of green, low-carbon and circular industrial development, and the direction is completely correct. He believes that the recycled stainless steel industry in Wuzhou has formed a significant scale advantage, laying a solid foundation for the industry to move towards high-end, intelligent and green development.

For the future development of the recycled stainless steel industry in Wuzhou, MAO Xinping put forward three suggestions: First, strengthen cooperation with research institutes, carry out joint research and development around the mechanism of residual elements, key processes and new product development, and consolidate the technical support for the industry; Second, enhance the control capacity over recycled resources, expand domestic and international channels for recycled resources, and ensure a stable supply of raw materials. Third, implement stricter and more meticulous classification and management of recycled raw materials to enhance product quality, reduce production costs, and strengthen market competitiveness.
